Unbound Visual Arts is presenting Katherine Downey Miller: Minimal Imagery, a solo exhibition of acrylic paintings by Boston artist Katherine Downey Miller that includes abstract landscapes in which beauty lies in minimal complexity.
In her artist statement, Katherine states that “everything in nature and the landscape inspires my imagery” and “using the shapes derived from the landscape, I distill the visual essence of purity to capture feelings through abstraction”.
Katherine Downey Miller received her B.S. in Studio Art from Skidmore College and her M.F.A. from The School of Visual Arts (NYC). She teaches at the Danforth Art Museum and School, the Arlington Center for the Arts and the New Art Center in Newton. She is a member of the Galatea Fine Art Gallery in SoWa, the Cambridge Art Association, Copley Society of Art, the Nantucket Art Association and Unbound Visual Arts.
