December 4 – February 21, 2014

Public reception – Saturday December 7

Unbound Visual Arts, based in Allston-Brighton, and the Harvard Allston Education Portal, is very pleased and excited to announce the opening of  a new contemporary fine art exhibition by a local artist – Susan Loomis: An Artist’s Progression.

The Susan Loomis exhibition features a wide spectrum of paintings and drawings by artist Susan Loomis from childhood to adult. They culminate into a series of ink drawings called Inkies that detail shapes and lines representing a churning and active composition.  The exhibition of 2-dimentional artwork includes acrylic, charcoal, pen, oil, and watercolor media on a variety of surfaces.  This is her first one-person exhibition.

Susan Loomis is a founding member and Treasurer of Unbound Visual Arts. She  received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MBA from the University of Phoenix Greater Boston campus, and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lesley University. She currently lives and works in the Boston area, as Assistant to the VP of Administration and Budget Coordinator for Lesley University and is also a PhD candidate in Educational Studies at Lesley.  Susan serves on the Board of Trustees of the Cambridge Women’s Center and the Brighton-Allston Historical Society Board of Directors.  Fervor for art and community continues to permeate in all of her service.
