We’re always looking to connect with artists who are passionate about their craft and aim to forge new directions in contemporary art. UVA members work within a variety of media ranging from sculpture, assemblage, painting, film and video, ceramics, drawing, and mixed media. Not only do we strive to work with artists whose art is aesthetically rich and deeply personal, but we are also drawn to artists whose work is grounded in social, political, and ethical concerns.
While anyone can join UVA, we’re particularly dedicated to local artists living in and working around Boston. Our hope is to build a strong network of artists who know about each other’s work, while fostering greater awareness of their art through public exhibitions and programming.
Artist Benefits:
- Access to 3-6 Calls for Art per year (curated by UVA) without entry/submission fees
- Opportunities to present your work in solo and small group (2-3 carefully selected artists) exhibits
- Listed on the UVA artist page with links to your artist website
- Artist-specific promotion during exhibitions you participate in
- Installation photos of exhibits for your professional use
- An average of 2-3 art sales per exhibition

Membership Tiers:
- Regular Membership: $8 per month ($96 per year)
- Sustaining Membership: $12 per month ($144 per year)
- Student Membership: $2 per month ($24 per year)
- 65+ Membership: $2 per month ($24 per year)
We also provide free memberships for EBT, WIC, card Connector Card holders and other individuals who might want them.
