Sharon Armour has been creating visual arts most of her life. In adulthood she has been torn between a career in science and the creative arts. She is constantly seeking balance between her analytical and spiritual sides in her creations. Her efforts have included technology, graphic design, horticulture/gardening, photography, and other 2D and 3D arts and crafts.
She works with humble materials – found, reclaimed, re-purposed & recycled wood & metal, stone, paper, clay and glass. Pieces are then supplemented with precious and semi-precious metals and stones, natural fibers and materials, polymer clays, patinas, stains, and paints. These materials are worked into new expressions of art and fine craft to highlight the beauty that is all around us and often discarded.
